Head of Corporate Affairs and Communications
Raul Damas joined Purdue in 2013 as Head of Corporate Affairs and Communications. He is responsible for planning and directing the preparation, management, and execution of strategies that help shape key environmental, legislative, and regulatory activities to support the company’s therapeutic and commercial interests. He coordinates and directs Purdue’s activities pertaining to corporate communications, public relations, federal and state government affairs, health policy, medical education, and healthcare alliances.
Prior to joining Purdue, Mr. Damas spent seven years at Pfizer, most recently as Senior Director of U.S. Policy, leading a team of regulatory experts, health economists, and financial analysts responsible for developing and advancing the company’s policy priorities. Before that, he served in the White House as Associate Director of the Office of Political Affairs, where he advised the President and senior administration officials on political and public policy developments. Prior to this, he was Coalitions Director at the Republican National Committee. He was also the co-founder of Latino Opinions, a bilingual polling and strategic communications firm.
Mr. Damas is a graduate of Villanova University and holds a Master’s of Political Management degree from the George Washington University and an MBA from Columbia University.
